5 Months

Where oh where has 5 months gone???  As you can see, Ashton is all smiles these days and so much fun to have around!

Parker Visits Nana & Papa

While Patrick, Ashton and I packed up and headed out to CA.  Parker went to the lake to spend a few days getting spoiled by Nana and Papa.  They had an absolute blast and Parker was an angel.  Nana spoiled him with daily trips to the pool where Parker made tons of friends.  They went on long walks with Brandie, read lots of books, did some cooking and watched lots of movies.  Parker loves spending time at the lake and we were thankful he was in good hands :)

Cereal!

I figured that since Ashton was approaching 5 months its was time to try out cereal.  He took to it, first time like a little champ!  He LOVES his food and  gets so excited when I put him in his high-chair, almost like he knows whats coming next!  He's not the neatest eater but he has fun and that's what is most important!

4 months old!

It's so fun to watch Ashton continue to grow.  He is really starting to become his own little person and is very interactive with Parker.  His face always lights up when he sees Parker!  I hope they will be best friends.  Ashton continues to be a good eater but still waking at least twice a night :(  He drools non-stop and puts everything in his mouth.  Its so hard to believe he is already 4 months!  He had a good check up...still in a very low percentile for weight and height... that's hard to believe because he seems to be growing so fast!

4th of July Fun!

We had a very mellow 4th of July this year as it fell on a Wednesday and we were getting ready to head to CA the next day.  After a few hours at the pool (it was HOT!) we headed over to the Nagles for a yummy dinner.  It gets dark so late so we weren't able to stick around for fireworks but fun was still had by all!

Touch a Truck

Every year the City of Greenville hosts the coolest event!  I have been waiting each year for Parker to be old enough and this year he finally was.  The event is called Touch a Truck.  They bring out all of the city's big equipment/trucks...the trolley, fire trucks, tractors, trash trucks, police cars, parking Smart Car and many more.  Parker had a great time pushing EVERY button, ringing every bell and making every siren wail.  He is such a boy!  Ashton even enjoyed his trip downtown and was all smiles with Daddy!

Ashton- growing and Oh So Sweet!

I just love this little face.  Ashton is such a happy little guy- He's smiling and cooing away non stop these days.  I can't believe how much quicker he seems to be growing up than Parker did!  I am trying hard to hold on to every last memory, smile and quiet moment we have together! I captured some of these photos last weekend while we were at my mom and dad's.  I really wanted some more pictures of his adorable hair before it all falls out!

The Captain

We headed to the lake for Memorial Day weekend and enjoyed some awesome weather, time with friends & family and of course boating on the lake.  At some point "Papa" found this old hat of Uncle Drew's and gave it to Parker to wear- He LOVED it and kept calling himself the Captain all weekend long.  I love this free spirit- although sometimes he makes me want to pull my hair out most of time I just can't get enough of him!  Another really funny moment this weekend came when Parker leaned back on my parent's front porch and put his arms behind his head and said, "Mama...I'm just Chillin' Like a Villian!"  Too funny!

Derby 2012- I'll Have Another

The Annual Kentucky Derby Party was a blast yet again this year.  I love seeing what everyone wears and how they get more and more creative with their outfits/hats.  This year we decided to "pool" our bets with the Nagles to up our chances of winning.  Each of us picked 2 horses so we had a chance of 8 horses coming in first for the big win.  We lucked out and picked the winner, "I'll Have Another" but so many other people picked him too that we didn't win big- but it was fun never the less.  The Andersons and Alexanders never disappoint.  This year there was a snowcone truck, DJ, live-band, caterer and of course the famous ice luge.  This year's derby fell on my birthday and Patrick led the group in a Happy Birthday which was very sweet- a fun way to celebrate!
