Apple Picking Fun

I love the South! There are SO many family friendly things to do and they are ALL fun! A few weekends ago we loaded up the SUV and headed up to Sky Top Apple Orchard in Western NC with our great friends the Nagles! Ali and John have two beautiful girls, Ellen and Marlie so between the three car seats and 4 adults...plus tons of snacks, sippy cups, books, stuffed animals, blankies, Elmo and two DVD players the car as you can imagine was full to the gills! We were a traveling circus headed for some fun.

It was an unseasonably warm...ok HOT day so its felt kind of strange picking apples in summer weather but we had fun never-the-less. Parker had a blast and Daddy was a trooper carrying Parker up and down the steep hills. As you can see Parker loved the apples and even picked a few himself.

Thank you to the Nagles for a fun day filled with many memories...next on tap for the traveling circus? Denver Downs Pumpkin Patch...stay tuned!

The Park!

Last weekend we finally had some cooler weather so we headed to the park so that our little energizer bunny could get out some of his NEVER ENDING energy! He had fun checking everything out and running all over the place. He loved the slide and of course his favorite swings.

After the playground we took a ride on the train (choo choo) in Heritage Park. We took Parker last summer when he was younger but this time he actually knew what we were doing and had an absolute blast. He loved the horn and the tunnel!

This is such a fun age!

Looking dapper

Labor Day weekend was a special one for our family. Not only did we have a VIP visitor in town from CA (Jax) it was also Parker's baptism. Grandma Mathews Whipped (in less than a day) the most precious little outfit for the special day. Parker looked so sweet and innocent in his romper...I just have to point out his skinned up knees. How typical of a little 17 month old toddler is that??? As you can see the day was filled with lots of love and wonderful memories. Godfather Drew (Uncle Drew) and Godmother Jacquelyn spoiled him with hugs and kisses and daddy did a good job of keeping him under control during the ceremony...Elmo helped too.

The chapel we chose to hold the ceremony in is at the new community where my parent's are currently building their dream home on Lake Keowee. The Reserve Worship Congregation and the visiting minister, Dr. Campbell all welcomed us with open arms and really made it feel like we have found a new church "home." Parker did great and gave everyone a good laugh when he reached into the water and tried to splash around during the baptism...too cute!

Thank you to everyone who made this such a special day for all of us!

As you can tell...he was tuckered out. So Sweet!

A Special Visitor

Again I have been remiss in tending to our blog...too much to do and too little time I guess! Let me get you all caught up.

Over labor day weekend we had a special visitor in all the way from CA. My friend, Jacquelyn came for five days and we had a blast catching up and even getting a chance for some "girls" only time. On Friday we went out to lunch in Downtown Greer, pampered ourselves at MGs Grand Day Spa, sipped frappacinos and then headed downtown for a night out...and a chance to sleep in the next day at the Hyatt where we had gotten a room! Saturday we got up and took a leisurely stroll through the farmer's market, had yummy omelets at Soby's on the Side and even checked out the Liberty Bridge in Fall's Park. Its always great to have visitors in because Greenville is so picturesque and provides many worthy kodak moments. Sunday we headed out to Lake Keowee for Parker's baptism. Jacquelyn is his godmother so it was extra special to have her here. Pictures of his baptism to follow.

We had so much fun laughing and being care free- something we both NEEDED very badly. Please come back Jax! We miss you!!
